Re: Nexus-remove

> All fighting stopped when Dan left

Actually... pretty much everything else did as well. I haven't seen
any forward progress on settings or framework in a couple of months.
Not saying there's a connection... just that whomever you are pushing
as Dan's replacement must not be someone who _IS_ showing up or they
are pretty worthless. *shrug*

I think the record is pretty clear that I have issues with the way Dan
runs things. Hasn't stopped me from playing and having a hell of a lot
of fun for over a decade... and it hasn't stopped me from doing a LOT
of setting work and much, perhaps too much, pondering on how to make
the rules better.

Whenever someone proposes something I always ask myself "who benefits
from this change". The answer to that question is often pretty
revealing. In this case I'm not even sure _WHAT_ you hope to gain.

If Dan steps down as campaign coordinator, or is ousted by a call to
arms by our president, who would replace him? That's been the sticking
point for years boys and girls. None of us will agree on anyone else.
What's the criteria? Lets think about it. They should be a GM. That's
a good start right? They should have experience in creating actors,
plotlines and geography. They should also have a thourough
understanding of the rules (I've played under a lot of GMs that don't
and have had fun... but I demand more from a coordinator).

Probably a good place to start would be the setting coordinators. That
would be Wright, myself and Dan on Jaern (and myself on the planet
pelecar). We can also include Andy and Mike as they have offworld
settings (how well documented or structured, I dunno. I'd wager Mike's
is pretty drawn up). I'd include Sean as well since he and John Fisher
used to run not only a setting but a whole different campaign on
saturday nights.

So... who from that list could we all agree on. *snicker* No one. So
we stick with the status quo. I think a large number of people would
prefer Dan rulings to a lot of mine. While, IMO, my rulings make more
sense and follow the rules more closely they also tend toward the dark
side and I take a heavy hand often... and no patience for idiots.
Wright? Nah... he's just getting over the Wrightquest (sorry) stint.
Andy? Ummm...no. Mike? No again. Sean? His humor scares me
sometimes... not the steady hand.

Truly... I'm really, really curious who's name you toss out. I'm
equally curious who nixes that name 1st.

So... to make a long posting short (too late)... Dan is still the best
game in town. At least until the next time I disagree with him :)
Oh... and I think I hold the record for having my plot lines shat upon
by Dan... the rest of you are just whiners.
