RE: Nexus-remove

Well, Steve you had there up until the last statement. I'll grant that
you hold the record for having the biggest plot-line ever shat upon
(not just by Dan, but I think myself and Joe were involved in that).
But I think you'll have to excuse me when I stick a hand up as the
one who has had the _most_ plot lines (active and potential) that
have been perturbed and/or all together eliminated by Dan and/or
other GM's. And I am not a whiner (you big meaney ;-) ).

Seriously, though, that kind of thing will happen in _any_ campaign
that has more than one GM; it can't be avoided no matter how much
effort is spent in keeping the GM's coordinated. That's why the role
of Campaign Coordinator was instantiated (in addition to the fact that
it allowed Dan some manner of say in the Club despite his otherwise
lack of official connection to the club). When toes get stepped on, the
Campaign Coordinator is supposed to be there to moderate the GM's
towards a commonly equitable solution. At least, that is my view. I
would definitely agree with you, Steve, that Dan is the best person for
the job. I don't always agree with his solutions (in fact, I have often
thought that I would have come up with something better), but I have
to admit that I do not want the responsibility of keeping it all together.
Moreover, I don't think anyone else is as capable of withstanding the
kind of crap that gets thrown at that position. All us old-timers know
what kind of crap gets thrown at the Coordinator and I think we can
all agree that Dan hasn't always done the best job. But I think we can
also agree that the job he's done has been consistently better than we
might have done and he's only gotten better as he's learned what will
work in our environment and what won't.

So, there you have my 3 cents (I tossed in an extra one for that little
bit of soapboxing I did in the beginning ;-) ).

So... to make a long posting short (too late)... Dan is still the best
game in town. At least until the next time I disagree with him :)
Oh... and I think I hold the record for having my plot lines shat upon
by Dan... the rest of you are just whiners.
