FW: Nexus-remove

This is a reply from Andrew.
====================
I hate it never happened rulings. As a side note, no Dan, it was not a
time travel adventure. The adventure that I talking about happened the
Friday before Christmas break. And coming back from Christmas break, eight
of the players on that adventure, after finding out the sea wall was
destroyed, never came back. Mr. Kilgore asked me about names. It has been
too long ago that I cannot remember the names. This is an example of the
fighting I want to avoid with "it never happened rulings."

1) The Nexus removal is a time travel adventure which is never a good
thing. I hate them just as much as "it never happened". I have never seen
good come from such an adventure. Unless the GM keeps a really tight
reign. The past is now changed there is a few things we are going to start
finding about. Lord Barlow or whatever you want to call him was
pre-warned. He could be ruling Rougtero now.

2) The whole Tarus god thing. please with earth mage spells, I can get
into any building. A third warning was given but I don't know to whom.

All of this will lead to fights.

Another problem I had with this adventure Brandon has introduced villans
who need an otherworld and a box that can destroy Jaern. If any can tell
me why the gods would allow otherworlds now please make them. My campaign
is based on otherworlds. Brandon gave his player's no choice. He did not
give them a chance to fight these things. When players brought that up, he
shot them down. I might support the Nexus removal without the MEGA MEGA
boogy man waiting for an otherworld portal.

The club's president called for a vote on a new campaign coordinator. I am
sorry I cannot support Dan. All fighting stopped when Dan left and it did
not start up again until he allowed another GM to run a time travel screw
other GMs game.

This is where I differ in opinion concerning Dan. Dan abandoned the
position last year and hence I do not consider him to be the campaign
moderator any longer.
Fortunately, the position of campaign coordinator is not a matter of
opinion. I hold this position. If what you mean is that after getting
abused
and argued with and generally treated pretty poorly by a group of
opportunist people over a period of a couple of years, that I did not want
to be there every Saturday night to get into yet another in a series of
unending and irresolvable arguments.... yes that is true. But at no time
did
I or any other senior GM acknowledge I was not available or about. NO ONE
who tried to come to be to talk about the campaign was turned down.
We do need a new campaign moderator, one who attends at least once every
two
weeks. Last time I checked none of our senior GMs
or Dan show up regularly.
Oh, I guess I have been there only in some alternative quantum reality for
the first 5 weeks of this semester then?
It has been at least two months since I seen
Wright at any meetings. I think it has been about three weeks since Lyle
last shown up. And Dan, has had an absence of NINE TO TEN MONTHS.
You are clearly mistaken on this count. I attended the setup for 5
adventuring sessions over the summer, was at 3 general GM meetings and 1
beginner specific meeting in the last few months.
  I am
very certain that I am not the only one of this opinion as demonstrated
what happened last weekend.

While I give credit to Dan for what he has done, he has not been giving the
leadership that the campaign needs as of late. If he should change his
mind (and the club as a whole, including non-student players and
non-student GMs, agrees) and takes charge of the campaign as a campaign
moderator should, my opinion is not going to change.
So, your opinion is set regardless of what others do. Well, I suppose it
is
fairly pointless for any of us to do anything.

I don't think the bickering and arguing was due entirely upon what happened
with your adventure. It is a symptom of a greater ill in the club. The
club does not have consistent and regular leadership in respects to the
campaign. Things are not going to get better until the campaign gets it.

Strange, My every attempt at maintaining consistent and regular leadership
over the past two years has been met with cries of my overbearingness, and
of my lack of allowing voting processes on the resolution of everything,
rules, rulings, and procedures. I do not believe there is a course of
action
that you would approve of which involves my involvement.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
You simply confuse me. What you want seems to change from one time to
another.... You want me to be an active leader and yet you and others get
nasty whenever I make rulings. You want me to be there every week, but you
want me to be there so you can complain to me about things. Have you ever
considered that this hobby is simply supposed to be fun? We are supposed to
enjoy it? Do you dislike me so much that you simply want me there week
after
week so people can be abusive? How come the first 20 years of the campaign
people simply accepted my authority and we did have fun? How come in the
last 2-3 years people are busy arguing over who runs the campaign and the
club has seemed to decline both in numbers and quality?
I, for one, am willing to do something positive. But everyone else has to
put in an effort as well. I will put the time in to continue to be
"campaign
coordinator", but in return you and others have to be mindful that we are
there to enjoy a hobby. I do not want to spend the majority of my time
there
defending my position and ability to make rules/rulings and adjudications
as
I have had to over the last two years. I want to spend time concentrating
on
GMing, and creating Jaern. So are you willing to put this behind us, accept
the rulings that are being made, and concentrate on playing/GMing rather
than these political issues?
