RE: defense
But as I was pointing out, guys, if you make the 6 dice roll
against your weapon skill and keep the +12 CDV/GDV until
your done with it, why can't your opponent just make a 6
dice roll and keep his +12 to hit until he's killed you? Or,
better yet, he's a kick-butt warrior with a magic weapon
and can hit your 30 CDV 70% of the time, so he just rolls
6 dice against his skill and cuisinart's you until you are dead,
then moves on to your party-mates and keeps up the flurry.
Hey, why should he have to re-roll just because the combat
situation has changed; you didn't have to re-roll, right?
Oh, just read your post, Steve. Glad to see you agree.
Now about weapon DV's adding to missile defense; sorry, but
I just don't concur. _Not_ having the weapon defense sub-
skill apply to MDV is _not_ an exception, it fits right in with the
fact that the weapon doesn't affect MDV to begin with. Also,
I can't really agree with your point that weapons should apply
to MDV. Sure, people today 'can' it baseballs and people today
'can' knock down thrown weapons or arrows, but I have to argue
that those people are: a) ready and waiting to do so, and b) not
in the direct line of fire of the missile. I'm sorry, but I just cannot
see Joe Cuisinart calmly noting 2 opponents loading bows as
he dices up one of the 3 brigands trying to steal his purse so he
gets a little more defensive and as he swings twice to severely
damage the second brigand in front of him, he also swings his
blade up and out just in time to split the two arrows, tip to notch,
on the edge of his blade. Nope, don't see it. Heck, I can't even
see Sammy Sosa knocking a ball out of the air that is heading
right toward his face, much less hitting it out of the park. Sorry.

Right... and this forces your opponent to _HAVE_ to go for that precise
attack to achieve parity, which means he can't by multi-attacking your ass.
Killers will be able to stand toe-toe with killers longer and be less
susceptible to those less adept with their chosen weapon.
A defensive person should buy up the dagger skill to its MAX so they can
up their DVs :)
