That would be an excellent hook for another GM. They catch you before the
game. Run a bit of a mini-adventure that results in your being captured.
Then hook a party in. *shrug*

Right. Agreed. Its best, however, not to involve your own adventurers.
Conflict of interests. What if some other adventurer had decided to 
wack Father Warrick rather than unchain him? If that attack failed
(for whatever reason) you would never truly be free of the stigma of
favoriteism and vested interest. Why put yourself in that situation?
The above is a drastic reach, but other lesser incidences do crop up.
