multiple skill uses
OK,
(since the list is foolishly quiet)
I keep hearing bits and pieces of "why can't we use more than one skill in
a round? (or questions to that effect)
IIRC, comments were made about such things while discussing split dice,
and within some other discussions.
If and when such things get to the proposal stage, I'd like to open the
discussion and see what we want.
Personally, I can see a use for them (DUH) esp. when Rick points out that
it's potentially impossible, without magic, for an auger to move in the
shadows, silently, and double-check which direction he's going in
(shadows, silent movement, orienteering).
But I'm hard-pressed to come up with a concrete proposal that would allow
skills to be used together in an intelligent manner and abuses of the
rules ( Off the cuff ... I'd like to use my longsword skill for extra
attacks (rolls 3 dice) Cool ... I'd like to use my short sword skill (for
my left hand) (rolls 2 dice) ... Cool.)
Not to indicate I don't like florentine, but it doesn't exist right now.
Nor do I think a multi-use proposal ought to allow an end around limiting
the number of attacks someone makes per round.
Ideally, I'd just like permission granted, and leave it up to the GM.
(DOH! as if to counter the "list is quiet" comment above, here come a
slew of metamagic concept posts ... didn't think it would last ;) )
