Re: Armor proposal 1

I clipped the original message for brevity.

Wright, who did you get to do the empirical testing? Not that I doubt you,
but just as Jevan and Kevin go their EP's from Dan, you guys might be up
for compensation. Real live testing is good for the club and adjusting
mechanics. Far too much in AQ is oversimplified in th ename of
streamlining. How much simpler is it to run down a hallway and take data
for half an hour? Very cool, guys.

On the armor design note: It isn't outside the real of possibility to have
a PC with high armor construction skill build you a set of armor with
improved characteristics. That's the point of the skill, right? Just like
Magic items, grab an elder GM (not implying fogie, just as in position of
respect) and have them adjudicate the skill check required and the
materials, costs, and time investment needed for your KICK-BOOTIE plate
mail. Then the PC must MAKE the check. (OH, I'm sorry I ruined the dragon
hide. How about some nice bucklers?)

Sounds equitable to me, but then sometimes buying crack in bulk to
save money sounds equitable, too. ;)
