Re: Elesina (those who don't care, don't read)

Not to create problems, but if memory serves me correctly, you
were grappling people from behind pretending to suck or bit on their
necks. If that isn't pretending to be a Hirudo I don't know what is.

Let me see if I recall correctly it never says in the book that
cinnamon "kills" Hirudo. It says that they are allergic to it. How many
times have you heard of someone having an allergic reaction to food, but
they eat it anyways. Maybe they like the taste. Maybe it is only a very
mild allergic reaction. I don't know. It doesn't state in the book. So
anyone who thinks that they are safe from hirudo because they have a stick
of cinnamon has not read carefully. Allergy does not necessarily equal
death in all cases.

Actually I have seen the adventure write up. It was a sound
adventure. We all as characters (including you and me) made it take a big
left turn.

Actually read the book. Lightning bolt is one of the few spells
that specifically states that it follows the normal laws of physics. This
being the case we should all be deaf in most cases from the compressive
shock wave that hits after the discharge of energy.

I have a coulpe of statements regarding this little rant and rave.
1. Could we all try to keep this objective.
This has become all too personal. This is an arguement between
two people. Lyle has tried to keep it off the public market, but Kris you
insist on dragging it to be a public thing. This is apparently a thing
you hold deep resentment over. It was used as an example. Lyle was not
picking on you directly. At least not from what I read.

2. My character directly killed Elesina. I held no out of character
things against Kris.
I don't know you very well, and to my knowledge you have never
done anything against me Kris. I evaluated the situation and acted
accordingly. I cast the "Dark Pain". I remember at least two or three
people trying to grapple you. One or two botched their rolls. So don't
accuse Lyle of trying to kill you because of out of character game or
personal things. My character drove the spear through your heart, and it
wasn't a personal issue between you and me. This was an honest to god in
character action. He was caught in the lightning bolt and he decided that
anyone who pretended to be a hirudo could be one. Could have been any
other member in the party and he would have done the same thing.

3. This is a game for crying out loud. Keep personal things off of the
open list.
We have been all guilty of taking things the wrong way and
snapping. I will be the first to admit it. I snapped a little bit at
Wright. People thought I hated Wright. I don't. As soon as people
pointed out to me that I was making it a personal issue I took it off the
main list. Wright will confirm that we tossed several messages back and
forth. If your gonna make it personal keep it off the list and email the
individual person. Or try picking up a phone and calling them.

4. Remember that in character actions have repercussions.
This is what we have been talking about all summer. If you do
something stupid, it may come back to haunt you. Maybe today. Maybe
tomorrow. Just like if you do something really great, the word will get
out and maybe somebody big will do you a favor. Maybe the small guy (like
the tavern keeper) says that your money is no good because you saved the
town. If you do something and somebody is around, somebody will probably
notice.

I just thought I would throw in my two cents because this is
becoming a heated arguement as I see it. I have no emotional claim in
this one. I lost my character too. I was a little mad at the time, but
once Joe told me about his character's deep attachment to his friends I
felt a lot better about his in character actions of killing me. He didn't
see everything, but I was holding the spear with your blood and he
out-right killed me. No sweat. Perfectly good in character action. This
is an old issue, and it shouldn't be an issue.
Here is a perfectly good issue. What are the only ways to bring
back a dead character? I as a GM would like to know. Here are some
guidelines I think should be in place.

	1. All resurrections should be run through a senior GM and should
include Dan as part of the decision.

	2. All resurrections should have the GM that officiated the death
of the character present. This is because they may know of circumstances
that you may not be aware of.

	3. Some decission should be made on the willingness of Anubis to
release the dead soul. Maybe Anubis likes you and wants to keep you
around.

The reason I threw in that last one is that some characters have been
brought back multiple times. I mean if you get caught by anubis more
than once, I would think your likelyhood of being brought back is greatly
decreased.

Maybe some GMs can fill me in on the exact ways a person can be brought
back to life.

Here is my list.
1. Miracle
2. Isis resurrection spell.
3. Old precurrent spells that still exist. (I would like to see an
actual write up if possible).

Any others??????
