Hrm... we all know that this is based on the 'Calvin and Hobbes'
Transmogrify Greg. You were standing right there when the spell was
thought up. I assure you that when Calvin trasmogrifies himself into a
pterodactyl and terrorizes the school he does not forget how to read (as
well as he ever could *grin) or his normal language.
In game terms we can (obviously) do whatever we want. But we should keep
it simple and consistent. So few people cast transmog that I don't
believe its worth a lot of our effort to sort out its ramifications and
parameters.
The only rules I ever _really_ had to stick with:
1. The creature must exist and I must have "seen" it. (That "seen" it
clause has kept me from unleashing a lot of cool shit onto the
unsuspecting populace. Half my time these days is figuring out ways to
track down creatures of my imagination...)
2. Cannot use "spells" as "skills
3. Always screw myself. If there was some question about which way a
ruling should go, go the direction that I don't benefit from. This is
pretty much a transmog meta rule to avoid "looking" like a munchkin.
*shrug* That's my $.02. Larger spew on the nature of rules to follow.
