last weekend (summary)
At high noon a dark stain spread across the Rhoughterro skyline, blotting
out the sun. Moments later 4 Hirudo emerged from the dirt at the foot of
the solarium, softening up the priests inside and drawing out their spell
units. The party arrived as the shock troops were being swept away to
witness a large, heavily armed group battering the doors to the solarium, as
two wraiths and a number of wraith-hounds solidified and prepared for
battle. There was a prolonged battle in the streets including some of the
following:
A 30ft giant (enmassed)
an Air Elemental (usaually invisible)
10 other player characters
a Conflaguration (Phantasmal thankfully)
a shadow drako
A Greater Demon
2 7'7 Wraiths
12 Wraith Hounds
18 Thugs (mostly marines)
an elephant
and a partridge in a pear tree (though most failed to notice it).
Two of the party fought thier way through to the temple, while the remainder
of the party disrupted the attack outside. The two inside (well, the one
remaining conscious anyway), successfully called daylight down into one of
the solarium's bunkers (hidden behind a bookcase on the left side of the
building for fututre reference), and released 6 dark locked warriors. The
suicide soldiers, infected with corruption by a hirudo, cleared the thugs
from within the solarium as the party fought off the last of the assault
troops outside.
At the end of the battle, the leader of the assualt was forced by Divine
Word to Excomminicate Rhonda, a priestess of Rudri healed of her insanity by
a player character on a previous adventure. Her engagement to be married to
said PC (Leather), was announced shortly thereafter. She walked to the
temple of Isis afterward for a long period of prayer.
The leader of the attack was able to narrowly escape. It was later
determined by the party that the attack was launched in an attempt to sieze
two artifacts believed to be housed in the solarium (see my previous
adventure summary). 2 young priests of Ra were killed in the attack, and
many more were wounded.
It should be noted that the two nearest squads of T'orites did not arrive
until after the battle's end. They were expected to come, and ambushed 2
blocks from the solarium. The T'orite troops sustained numerous wounds,
several broken ribs, 2 broken arms, and a concussion (all of which were
subsequantly healed by the temple of Isis).
A GM note: those present at the battle will be considered by the priesthood
of Ra to have done them a great favor in a time of great need.
