RE: 10/2 Game Summary
No other world portals within 200 mets of "red dirt"? I don't remember that part. Of course things did get chaotic at the end.

Subject: 10/2 Game Summary
Hook: Father Warrick is missing. Those interested in joining a search party
meet at the Sanctuary at dusk.
The party met the Vivocefo at the Sanctuary, who told them of Warrick's
disappearance three days prior. She told the party that she sent for
Warrick's acquantaince Jarod Tharp (an actor of mine) to get his help in
determining if Warrick's disappearance was anything out of the ordinary.
During his inspection of Warrick's quarters, Jarod found an item of
suspicious origin. He decided to call in a favor and brought his friend Erin
Tatum (another of my actors) in for his opinion.
Erin explained that the creatures who took Warrick were members of a race
from another dimension - a race he has spent his life fighting. He told them
that these creatures (the Forlani) were interdimensional travelers, who
specialized in conquering worlds, and then draining them of their energy,
leaving them comepletely lifeless. He explained that these creatures were
the source of the Nexus, and that the Nexus was their first step in
establishing a presence on a world. He also told the party that the Forlani
were shapechangers, able to take on any form they wished at will. He offered
to close the Nexus, and save Jaern from its fate.
The party was told that while Erin did not know Warrick's exact location, he
was capable of determining it given enough time. He told the party that
while he was searching for Warrick that they would be going back in time to
Jaern's past, to attempt to retrieve an item that was necessary for the
closing of the Nexus.
The party went back to Karfelon, to the year 10010. They were searching for
Dexy Modoc (my former character) who had the sword they were looking for.
They found him with relatively no trouble, and in exchange for taking him
along to the future.
While the party was in the past, one member separated himself, and wrote
some letters to various people. He wrote a letter to Lord Barlowe, warning
him of the coming flood. He wrote one to the Archive, warning the Tarusites
of the flood, the death of their god and of the death squads after Tarus'
death. He also wrote another letter, but the recipient has slipped my mind
(help me out Sean).
The party returned to the present, with Modoc in tow. Upon their return, he
handed over his sword and disappeared. The party checked and found that
there was an Archive in Rougtero, and that there always had been one. They
confirmed that Tarus was dead, and that many of the priests of the Archive
had managed to survive. One party member mentioned the Archive, and
discovered that they have greatly increased their security. Only mention was
made of Rougtero, no mention was made of any Archives or the lack thereof in
any other part of Jaern.
Next the party made a quick trip to the home dimension of the Forlani. After
a quick battle, Father Warrick was recovered and the party went back to
Jaern.
Now Erin asked the party if they wanted the Nexus to be closed. He explained
the consequences, and upon the party's request, took them to one of the dead
worlds that was destroyed by the Forlani. He explained that the Nexus
Crystal that was used to create the Nexus was a seed created by the Forlani.
It was opened on Jaern by a priest, and that every other dimension that the
Nexus had been used to travel to now had its own Nexus. He told them that
this was their way of easily finding worlds to plunder. He told them that by
destroying the Nexus on Jaern where it was originally created, it would
destroy all of the secondaries on other dimensions, protecting both Jaern
and all the other worlds.
He explained that destroying the Nexus would effectively seal the dimension
from the Forlani for a minimum of twenty five years, with no upward limit.
At this point the party members called a meeting of all the priesthoods in
Rougtero, as well as some of the major merchants. They looked for opinions
from all of these people. At one point they took a vote of the party
members. Eventually, after long and excruciating debate, it was decided that
the Nexus would be closed, after giving everyone one month to make
preparations, decide on a permanent home, etc.
The adventure ended with the Nexus being destroyed on 7/20/29. Everything
that was in the Nexus was also destroyed. Although no experimentation has
been made, any Otherworld spell that is cast within what was the radius of
the Nexus is immediately Revocated.
