They haven't so far have they? In fact how many of the other sides
even know there is a nexus? How many of them even go to populated
worlds? I know the three I put in there don't.

I have no doubt that if a PC held the ground suddenly all manner of
evil forces would poor out. But they haven't yet have they...

Fucking with switzerland wouldn't piss anyone off. Its just not worth
the effort. In WWII our planes really couldn't fly over switzerland
(too mountainy) and there was no strategic value to it. Switzerland
is neutral because its not worth taking.

Again you imply that everyone on every side of the portals is aware
of what is happening on every other side. I understand that a group
of T'orites is strip seaching people who come through... doesn't this
invasion make everyone in the portals want to go over to Atallia and
kick some ass for disturbing the status quo? Guess not. Again the
difference is a GM holding the nexus and a PC.
