Rougtero Game 2/27

Game Duration: 9 days

The following is now common knowledge in Rougtero.

A long time ago there was a mage king named Deverel who had
aspirations of godhood. After taking over a large portion of
Jaern, a hero appeared who killed Deverel and his lieutenants.

The hero was Aric Trevin, who was able to triumph because he
had been imbued with power by both Isis and Anubis. Shortly
after he vanquished Deverel, Trevin disappeared.

Trevin was ambushed by a Nomadic Rondo, and his entire essence
was placed in a powerful incant called a Rope of Binding. The
nomads who did this were caught and the rope was recovered.

A rondo was created just to house the rope, to protect it
until they could bring Trevin back at a time when he was needed.
This is the rondo that docked in Rougtero recently.

Starting about eight months ago, a different Rondo began interacting
with the adventurers of Rougtero, both in the open and through a
middleman named Drake. This Rondo was using adventurers to gather
various components of an incant that they plan to use to bring
Deverel back from the dead. This Rondo has now disappeared and
are preparing the incant and gathering the final components needed.

All this was told to a gathering of adventurers by Larrack, a priest
of Anubis; Melirra, the Vivocefo in Rougtero; Jarod, a dwarf who has
had personal experience with the Rondo out to resurrect Deverel; and
Bez-Larue, the patro of the rondo trying to prevent Deverel's
resurrection.

The adventurers were also told about the possibility of bringing back
Trevin, the hero. The rope in which he is bound is an eighteen inch
length of thin rope. It had four knots when it was originally created,
but at some time in the past it has been cut, and the knots have been
separated. Bez-Larue is in possession of two of the knots, but all
four are needed to bring back Trevin. Each of the knots requires
certain special procedures to undo, and to properly return Trevin
all four must be undone at the same time.

The four knots represent Trevin's physical body, his spirit, his soul
and his life force. Bez-Larue is in possession of the body and life
force knots.

A large group of adventurers [yeah!! 15!! I completely filled a
sign-up sheet!!] was sent to Selica-Ja to recover a hammer that
is needed to undo the life force knot. The hammer was known to be
in the possession of the Spaulden family of Selica. The party
travelled to Selica and met with Herbert Spaulden, the head of
the family.

Herbert explained to the party that his brother, Julius had left
for Lentri, and had taken the hammer with him in an effort to
purchase a lordship. Herbert agreed to loan the hammer to the
adventurers if they could bring back both the hammer and his
brother.

The party travelled to Lentri, and after having some difficulty
with the locals, they learned of the hammer's whereabouts. A
small selection of party members went to see the mage who had
the hammer, and ended up fighting her for it. She and her minions
were killed, and the hammer was recovered. After a short search,
"Lord" Julius was found manacled and caged in the mage's residence.

Julius was returned to his brother's residence, and the hammer was
given to Larrack.
