Re: Armor proposal 1

I just wanted to note that the test run through the hallway of Stewart Center
was not to declare that movement in chain mail should be 50'/R, but more to
show that it is really unrealistic to say that chain mail will slow you down
to half of your normal movement. This same statement can apply to all forms
of armor. Plate doesn't slow you down to 1/3 move, and leather doesn't slow
you down to 2/3 movement.
I have always been confused as to why clothing makes you move only 50' round.
Most people who do any running, jogging, etc. will move in clothing, not naked.
And as far as protection for clothing, it is way less than half as protective
as leather armor. Leather armor is made from thick (12 ounce) hide that is
boiled in oil or impregnated with wax. Leather that is cured in such a way
is commonly cut with a bandsaw instead of a knife (according to the leather
store owner that I talked to when I bought some leather for armor). Therefore,
if clothing is to provide some protection, then leather and all other forms of armor need to have their DVs increased accordingly.

Enought armor babble for now.
