Mantrix and his plate mail

Though he has the money to buy better plate mail, he only has the normal 
type now.  Since you have to find someone with enough steel to make plate 
mail, he hasn't found it yet(If a player has the ability and the steel, I 
have the money).  The big problem with plate mail is that swimming is 
almost impossible to do.  The way Mantrix gets around that is a magical 
item that gives him gills once per day as well as a swimming skill of 
twelve(note he is a elven warrior).  The two combined as well as some 
common sense on when to use it makes up for the disadvantages in the 
water. On the land, I use missile weapons for when I can not get 
there(due to slowness) or I can default sprinting to make myself go 
faster.  I have 40 DP and  good DV's as well as a arsenal of weapons to 
use.  The only problem with him is that his stats are low and another die 
doesn't make a difference when you are going to have trouble with 3d6.  I 
also try to think before I act(unlike most adventures) so as not to put 
myself in situations where I need to make a RC vs. Pwr,Agi,Str though I 
still think the number of penalities on plate mail are too much I just 
deal with them.
