See? If we had a real ruling on this the answer would be clear. Using
the gravity well (of planetary mass) theory if Jaern blows up you become
afixed relative to the next planetary sized mass. Pretty simple. A good
ruling means that you can answer such questions because every case gets
covered.
Using my favored rule it would work thustly:
The blue field will move relative to whatever was moving it _if_
that something is BIGGER than the target. This allows for some
munchkinism but not too much and covers all of my favorite cases.
If the object that it is bound to is destroyed it becomes relative
to the next thing that was "carrying" it.
So... if you are on a lifeboat onboard a ship and get bluefielded
you stay with the ship (the lifeboat wasn't "carrying" you, the
ship was).
If that ship gets exploaded then you become relative to the ocean.
If your in the lifeboat and being lowered over the side of the
ship, you'd be relative to the lifeboat. If the lifeboat blew
up before it was released from the ship you'd become relative to
the ship... afterward you'd become relative to Jaern.
That said... the meta rule is:
You become relative to the most specific "free standing" (ob-modifier)
object that is carrying you.
This rule covers all of the above cases.
(that's larger than you? that clause would be useful for Tarzan
and his vine, Greg and his skateboard, etc... unless it is desirable
for Tarzan to become affixed to his vine? With the clause a mouse
would stay with a skateboard, I wouldn't. Thats kind of inconsistent
so maybe leave it off. In which case if a bird is on my shoulder
and gets blue fielded he is bound to my shoulder. If you are sitting
in a chair and get blue fielded, you are bound to that chair.)
This means that with a bit of forethought you can start moving
blue fields around which for some reason was thought undesirable.
