Re: When Hirudo were voted on

I don't think hirudo are going to be that disruptive. From personal
experience they PK about as much as anyone else, they don't
drag the party off into inappropriate tangents(priests of scrogg),
they don't accidentally decimate the party with a miscast spell(fireball),
They can no longer autokill someone in 3 rounds as the victim can
certainly fight back, they can't deal out over a hundred pts of
damage in 2rnds. Hirudo will never get up to rank 12 and throw a
divine word without several years of gameplay. A Hirudo will
never use those top end abilities without many years of game play.

They are no longer over powered for player use since they can't
start as'em. They can't get booku xp just from wacking another
hirudo.

As for them being disruptive to game play, as I said before, they
are much less disruptive(not tom ention less powerful) than a priest
of Scrogg or Orus. Hirudo don't start getting foul in their actions
that makes(I quote Rick) put up the decency curtain.

What it comes down too, hirudo are going to be no more and no less
disruptive than any other sort of character. If someone is going
to dick a party, they can do it with any PC and will do it with any
sort of character. And if someone is more bent towards playing
that type of character, they can certainly pick far better/cost effective
means of doing it. The stalking/bludgeon combo or just plain immobilize
come to mind right off the bat.
