You are correct. There is no clear definition of DP. Obviously in a combat
simulation game you would not be able to increase you DP, just your DVs.
AQ has the concept of DP (D&D hold out, sure, but also a good simplification
mechanism). No one has ever given an explanation for it that holds in all
cases. *shrug*

I don't really care for this mechanism... its got some dirty implications
and potential abuses.
