I personally prefer what Dan suggested, you make your check for
defense, then it continues on as such untill you change it, i.e.
do a multi, etc..  But that is just to make the use of a defensive
skill simpler.  *shrug*  But for a more..realistic? approach, it
should be rolled every time you use it, sometime you are on
the defensive game, sometimes ya screw the pooch.
