Yep, purely defensive weapons.  Shields, BUcklers, Parrying Daggers,
Main-gauche.

As dan said, you make it, and you continue with it until the fight ends
or you change options.

i.e. you set defensive the 1st round, then on the lizard init the 2nd round
you are still defensive since it is before your action.  Then when
your action rolls around, you can change to something else, or stay
defensive.
