Re: magic immunity
As Steve said WOW.
Joe the magic just makes nature happen when its not supposed to. The
result
of a fireball is physical the magic is only what directs it to blow up
where it
does. Its also the magic that makes the lightning bolt stay on course
and hit
the person at the end of the line but it is not the magic that hurts
you that is
electrical. Why else would drakos need resistance to fire if they had
immunity
to magic?
About the immaterial bit. Sure magic is what made the creature
immaterial but
not all magic can make things immaterial so therefore not all magic
can affect
the immaterial. Can you listen to FM radio on an AM receiver? The
signal was
generated and turned into FM waves therefore your AM radio can't see
the
signal. Same applies to magic. If I took a radio wave jammer meant to
affect
just certain frequencies it will only get those frequencies.

Subject: magic immunity
fireballs and lightning bolts come from magic. magic immunity makes
one
immune to the workings of magic. therefore magic immunity makes you
immune
to fireballs and lightning bolts. note: creatures are not smart
enough to
drop the resistance for good magic. immaterial should act as just a
different plane and since magic that made the creature immaterial must
work in both planes magic should work against the creature in
immaterial
state as well as creatures in that state using magic against
others. Physical contact is out so the hirudo can grapple you and be
immaterial but thats why they have so many damn attack spells that
don't
require grappling.
