I was going to say it gives a distinct edge to high DV critters, but the
only 20+ critters in the book are the Groken, the Gargoyle, and some of
the Dracos ... most of which, save the Gargoyle, a 10 to mid-teen will
still give a decent chance to hit.

I still have to wonder, though, if my warrior's cap is, say, 15, how much
extra utility do the points beyond that give in most combats?

(expecting the parry discussion here ... I still say I'll take my adjusted
+7 (15-8 from a 4d parry) and 4-5 attacks per round against the parrying
warrior's 1 attack any night of the week)

Add in the fact that warriors obviously rely on their weapons more than
any other background, and that in almost every case MODs are more
expensive for every other background. As such, other backgrounds, will be
much less effected by the MOD cap ... further, because of the differences
in expense, very few non-warriors (and perhaps marines) are going to have
MODS much over 10 or the low teens (excluding racial bonuses).

As the warrior already has few advantages as far as purchasing abilites
within his sphere of influence (short of perhaps becoming good with
multiple weapons), why further limit one of the few cost breaks they can
purchace?

On the matter of capping DV ... regardless of whatever elusive or
differing definitions we may have, how unbalancing is the ability to take
3 fireballs over 2?

As for exceptionals affecting either cap, I'm sure all the non-mutated
warriors with their MODs in their 20s and DP in the 80s will be scampering
for favors by their friendly neighborhood water mages anyway ... they'll
certainly have the eeps to spare (presuming they'd buy down their mods to
be below the cap)... why bother?

On second thought, what else are they going to spend their eeps on had
they been adhering to ROLEPLAYING a pure warrior? I suppose they could
begin to learn to chuck fireballs too. (expecting another parry skill
comment here) :)

More to the point, why punish the handful of players who have manged to
GET their warrior to the point (s)he has 80dp and 18+MOD?

Any takers on my theoretical 90dp 25Cmod warrior taking on a similarly
rated earth mage (bobble) air mage (hawksoar & lightening bolt) or priest
(divine word)?

He'd sure be overpoweringly kicking their ass if they were ever foolish
enough to let him touch them :)

Hey, how many straight-up warriors have been entered in kill-o-thons over
the years, anyway?
