matrix gems (again)

We seem to all basically agree...so how does the following ruling sound?

Matrix Gems require a day of study to attune to.  You must be touching the
gem during this day.  When it is on your person and touching your skin,
you recieve the appropriate bonuses to skills/spell units/incants
according to the type of gem you have.  If it is not touching your skin,
you do not recieve any bonuses.
