Tsk tsk. You all have forgotten the first step of the crossbow gutshot.

Mindra Vi first puts her victims to sleep with Rockabye. Handy little 
rank 1 spell that is undetectable if the victim succeeds the resistance check.

She then wakes them up with the crossbow bolt in the gut.

Besides, she hasn't done that in a long while... She's working on the
next step up from that:

Witchy Sleep, then Mutate.
