RE: Nexus-remove
This is where I differ in opinion concerning Dan. Dan abandoned the
position last year and hence I do not consider him to be the campaign
moderator any longer. We do need a new campaign moderator, one who attends
at least once every two weeks. Last time I checked none of our senior GMs
or Dan show up regularly. It has been at least two months since I seen
Wright at any meetings. I think it has been about three weeks since Lyle
last shown up. And Dan, has had an absence of NINE TO TEN MONTHS. I am
very certain that I am not the only one of this opinion as demonstrated
what happened last weekend.
While I give credit to Dan for what he has done, he has not been giving the
leadership that the campaign needs as of late. If he should change his
mind (and the club as a whole, including non-student players and
non-student GMs, agrees) and takes charge of the campaign as a campaign
moderator should, my opinion is not going to change.
I don't think the bickering and arguing was due entirely upon what happened
with your adventure. It is a symptom of a greater ill in the club. The
club does not have consistent and regular leadership in respects to the
campaign. Things are not going to get better until the campaign gets it.
Thanks,
Mike

I do not now, nor will I ever, acknowledge making a mistake in consulting
Dan. He is the campaign coordinator, as well as the GM who created the
Nexus, a plot device that featured heavily in my intended adventure. He
allowed me to eliminate his plot device and run my adventure entirely as I
planned.
For those of you that GM regularly in Rougtero, this is how it is supposed
to work. You create a summary of your planned adventure, you email it to
Dan
or make arrangements to discuss it with him in person. As the campaign
coordinator it is then his right to ask you to change any or all of your
intended plot. Speaking from experience, I can say that he is more than
willing to help you do so. This is the procedure that I have followed every
time I have started a plotline, or wanted to GM a one-off adventure. It's
his campaign, and by NOT consulting Dan you do him a disservice.
How many GMs willingly accept the 5000 experience point bounty that was
placed on GMing an adventure? If you recall, that bounty was for adventures
approved by the campaign coordinator. Quite simply, unless you run your
plot
by Dan first, you don't deserve it.
Also, on a related note, I would like to say how very disappointed I was
Saturday night in the behaviours of a few members of the Fantasy Club.
Calling for an election of a new campaign coordinator just because
something
happened in a game that was upsetting to you is, at best, childish. Dan has
put years of work into this campaign and this system, and to put forward
the
idea of simply tossing him out because you have an evening with which you
are dissatisfied is something to be ashamed of.
