Well, it has been stated that GMs should roll with the punches, and adapt to
the changes that come up.
With the events of last saturday ending up being far more vast that we
initially anticipated, it appears that I will have to do just that.
As such, I am going to begin work on establishing a new setting, a small
distance from Lojem Island. I just came up with this idea a couple minutes
ago, so I don't have a lot of details yet. I do wish this to be a cooperative
effort, though. Any GM who wishes to contribute to this setting should
contact me, by email or other means, so we can get things going. I'm not
looking to create something as detailed as Geleia, but rather a jumping off
point for adventures.
There are a number of reasons that I see the need for this new setting:
A: The destruction of the Nexus, and subsequent prohibition of new portals
within a 200 met radius of Rougtero now necessitates a place where
GMs who run adventures in other worlds can start their adventures.
B: The IC political situation in Rougtero has always been shaky at best, and
now with the impending collapse of its economy (again), the site is
not really a good place for people as wealthy as adventureres tend
to be.
C: Some (not all) people feel that the Lojem area has been pretty much played
out for adventure ideas. A new setting will provide new ground for
our players to explore.
D: Personal reasons. I just want to create a place that has a government and
an economy that is affected by IC actions. Again, nothing as big as
Geleia's scale, but something less artificial than Rougtero. One thing
that always appealed to me about the Karfelon setting was that it did
have a government and an economy. I've not heard word one about who
runs Rougtero, if anyone, or where the money of 'Rougtero mint' comes
from. Just a pet peeve of mine.
Anyone who does not care for this idea is more than welcom to not participate
in developing it. I'm not looking to replace Rougtero, or anything like that.
I just want to put together a setting that makes me more comfortable to run
from, as a GM.
