Game Summery
Game Summery
Public Information
For the first time since their conception, the Underwater Games of
Karfellon were open to land-dwellers, both for spectators and athletes. The
clear favorite going into the games was three time champion Sorikat. Few
expected the upset that occoured.
The swimming event went smothly, with few surprises the first day. The
second day, however, showed a surprise showing by an orc by the name of
Harpo. He actually grabbed a fish during the dolphinriding competion, using
it as bait to lure the dolphin for more speed. The 31st ranked Harpo
proceeded to finish the second day's event in 4th place, stunning both the
athletes and spectators. Whats more, he directly challenged Sorikat to the
next event, Wrestling.
Sorikat seemd to have the upper hand on the third days events, as he toyed
with the orc, but was then put down as Harpo amazingly managed to not just
grab, but hold on to him for the full 3 count, removing the champion.
The final event, hand-to-hand combat, was delayed two days to allow the
priests providing the waterbreathing to the spectators time to recuperate.
With the title now up for grabs, no one knew who would come out on top.
However, Harpo seemed to put on a shining performance, downing both of his
opponents to claim the championship. Sarinas came in second, and Toran third
after his opponent bowed out of the consolation bout. Thus the first
land-dwelling champion of the games is crowned. Can he retain the title next
year? From this orc, who knows.
GM Information -
The two day break during the games was not for rest, as claimed to the
public, but because the magic items to be given out as prizes were stolen.
The party of adventures that were attending the games was assembled to chase
the thieves and retrieve the items, which they did so successfully. However,
there was one casualty, and another, Kain, was knocked unconcous, missing the
last day of the games. Rumors are that the theft was organized by the same
watermage that caused the mine collapse in Klactri a few months back. The
total time for this adventure was 11 days. There were 9 players, of which
one, Harpo, praticipated in and won the Games.
Personal thoughts
I didn't think I did so well with this one as I did with the last, but it
helped me understand a few things not to do once in a while. I am open to
comments from those who were at the game, as it was only my second time.
Thanks
