RE: Anything I say..
Jevan,
Is it possibly that you are confusing time frames here? A free action
occurs when the players are not in melee.... In a time frame that is much
longer than a combat round. If what you meant was a round that involves a
non-countered action that is the player's alone, it would be more analogous
to a "surprise round" or in this case an "extra round" awarded to the
player. Restricting the type of action within this might also be very hard
to adjudicate or justify.
Just trying to keep the terminology unconfused.

It is amazing to me that most of the banter on the list is not about
gaming but diction. Some people need to be a little more constructive in
the sense that this list was created for.
On that note, I had a rather vicious game the other day, and concluded
that tackle skill should provide a free action, not round, to the
aggressor. This would be an unskilled action such as a punch or a grapple
or a move out of melee. Since tackle has only 2 xtra dice to agility,
most good warriors can make the check to run into combat and tackle an
opponent, and still get a round as if they were in melee for the entire
round. Either that or it should be non defaultable, with a high base
cost.
