Actually I've run a continuing plot-line from Centralia that the Nexus'
magical properties suck in natural portals too (ie, wormholes). One of my
actors has been researching its effect for a while and hiring adventurers
to do reacon for him as to where the worm holes lead. Some of these are
temporary and only are accessable for a short time.
