I like this, too. Since there has been nothing but encouragement about
making Warrick the Vivocefo in Rougtero, I've decided to go ahead and
put him in this position. What to do about my often and unavoidable
absence from the weekly game? I have narrowed things down to two choices. I
could
A) Create a second in command for Warrick, an actor that has a complete,
public write-up available for all GM's to use. The actor would not
have the same level of power as Warrick, and I would still have major
decisions referred to me when possible. Things like the casting of
Recall, which the actor won't have. Another would be Miracles cast
by members of the temple (ones that aren't players).
or
B) Create a detailed write-up for Warrick that is available to only a few
people. What I'm thinking of is writing this up and making it available
to BJ, Wright and Steve. While Wright and Steve wouldn't often (or maybe
ever)have any reason to use Warrick, they are head GM's for their
respective settings. BJ, while not the head Rougtero GM, is very often at
the Saturday games and knows me and the character well enough that he
could
play him.
I prefer A. As far as major decisions regarding Isis go, often there aren't
that many. Regarding deaths and Recalls, this is not something that would be
done during the course of an adventure (bringing a dead character back to
Rougtero and waiting for an audience with Father Warrick), and at best would
be done at the end of the evening after the main portion of the adventure
had been completed. This is not something that has to be done the same
evening.
With the connectivity supplied by email, which is the same connectivity that
allows me to remain a part of the campaign even though I live 200 miles from
Lafayette, a determination could be made through the week, and the results
given to the players at the next Saturday game.
If A is not acceptable, I think that a combination of A and B would be
better
than just going all the way to having other people make determinations using
Warrick all the time. I could write up the actor, and he would be used most
of
the time. I could also do the writeup for Warrick and give it to Wright,
Steve
and BJ, so that when a decision absolutely must be made immediately, someone
can do it. That's probably the best course of action.
