And now for something completely different...

The problem with letting GMs judge it per basis is the consistancy 
factor.  If one week a player gets a ruling on a particular matter and 
then goes through all the same motions to do whatever again the next week 
and the GM then says "woa, you can't do that," then it is certainly not 
fair to the player(s).

On the other hand I can just take the first hour of my game answering 
questions on the manner in which I will ajudicate something in the event 
(likely or not) that it will come up.

I think that these discussions are good... at least to a point and I'm 
glad that consistancyand fairness is our goal.  Let's just keep it that
way and have fun in the meantime.
