I think in the create undead spell it says that it takes a fragment of the soul and
uses that to animate the thing.  This little fragment is not enough to count as a
full soul, but the soulstrike is an area of effect and WILL tear it up unless the
RC is made.

Further I'd say deliver doesn't work against undead, as they do not have enough
of a soul to qualify as actually having one...again..they just have that soul shard
that keeps them going.
