No. It works like this:

If you put a soul into an elf (using soulhome assumedly) then you
also are putting another spirit and mind into the elf as well. We
have ruled that the elf body will reject the foreign mind and
spirit in 1d12 weeks... at which point those things go to wherever
such things end up going.

If you soulcatcher in the interim you will snag the soul and it
will drag the original spirit/mind with it since it is connected
to those.

For the whole duration that its in there the original spirit will
still have control of the body (better link to the lifeforce). This
can be altered through spells but its still a tenuous existence and
in the end the foreign spirit will lose and be cast out.
