But how many actors have you run into that are higher on the food chain
than you?  Quite a few, I'd imagine.  Plus, Carl (sp?) is kind of an
exception, being a good two or three hundred ratings higher than the
average high-rating adventurer.  Plus, all it would really take is for a
water mage to burn himself and make some item have an effect weapon ward.  
(Note:  I'm pretty sure this would work, but I don't have a book atm.)
