Split Dice Proposal
Okay,
It looks like Steve volunteered me to write up the split dice proposal
(you will pay for this Steve).
Here it goes..
Proposal
Anytime a group of skills is listed as a subskill of another skill, it is
possible to perform more than one of these subskills during the same
round. In order to do this, you first roll a number of dice versus the
main skill. If you make your check you can then allocate these dice in
any combination you see fit. No cascading effects are allowed. (i.e.
lethal and precise attach only effect first attack when used in
conjunction with multi attack).
Example
For example, John the Warrior rolls 5 dice versus his weapon skill and
succeeds. He decides to spend 3d6 on multi attack which will give him 3
extra attacks and 2d6 on a precise attack which will give him an extra 4
points on his to hit roll on the first attack.
Advantages
This will allow more flexibility in play and hopefully see the use of
some of the subskills which don't often get used. Additionally, this
might reduce the number of multi attacks a warrior does simply by the
virtue of not being able to resist getting some precise attack in on the
first roll so that his other attacks actually happen.
Disadvantages
A little bit more complication, but the player can always choose to not
use this option if it is just too much for them to handle.
