Weapon Ranges




Been doin some thinking about weapon ranges, here is what I've cooked
up so far.

There are 4 types of weapons, melee, melee/thrown, thrown,and 
mechanical.  For our purpose, we'll say 2, melee and missile
weapons.  Further for simplicity, we'll make a general statement
about melee weapons.  They suck in flight, so I've arbitrarily
assigned them the below range characteristics.  Why?  Because
you can throw about anything 20 feet with a hard chance of hitting
and farther(extreme range) with only a 1 in 20 chance of hitting
(i.e. only hitting on a crit, and a crit is just a hit).

Other weapons I'll detail in a followup posting to this, but 
for now here is the proposed ranges for melee weapons(such as
swords, polearms, maces, etc...)

Unless otherwise listed, the weapon has the following range
characteristics:

Category	Short	Medium	Long	Extreme
Range		5ft	10ft	20ft	20yd
Modifier	-0	-5	-10	crit
