RE: Nomads and body hopping
The problem you present here, Wright, is one of adjudication. No GM
should ever allow this to occur (unless the nomad was a second-lifer).
You see, hopping bodies would be disdained amongst Nomads, and
anyone known to do such should be treated exactly as if they were, in
fact, second-lifers. Moreover, if a non-second-lifer nomad were to hop
to another body, they should immediately find that they have been
abandoned by their guardian spirit; no ifs/ands/or buts about it. If I
were the GM moderating such a hop, that is the result that would have
occurred.
Do any of you GM's know of any nomad player characters who have
hopped bodies? If so, please let me know and I will take them aside
to discuss the repercussions of that action. Don't worry, I will give each
of them an out; I'm not going to bend them over just because another
GM had an inadequate understanding of the nomadic limitations. All
GM's should be aware that I can be used as a resource when it comes
to adjudicating actions regarding nomads; please make use of me so
that such blatantly inappropriate mistakes are not made in the future.
Regarding the questions about Soulcatcher and what, exactly, it affects:
I, too, would like some clarification. Wright, you raise some very good
questions. Perhaps now would be a good time for Dan to step in with
an adjudication and perhaps some errata to clarify.

Subject: Nomads and body hopping
One thing that is bugging me more and more is the prevelance of body
hopping and the casual manner it is done with such loose rules on it.
What all exactly does soulcatcher transfer? It says the soul, which
is quite different than the mind, spirit, and life. Currently
its being run so that it transfers mind, spirit, and soul. Is this
incorrect? If this is incorrect, what is the point of the spell?
not having a soul is not a hinderance, as Elves show, so being
soulcatchered means little.
Also, what happens to a person's soul when they rock they are in
is smashed? or if its a 10.1lbs rock and .2lbs gets knocked off?
does the soul get sent to Anubis? Is it destroyed?
The reason I asked the first question is the pretty mega benefits
nomads get from body hoping, a free +2 to any incant they make. Body
hop to a spare body and then stress the health of that body to 3, then
hop back to their normal one. They then get a pile of free xp that way.
Something really needs to be done about this.
