Ah but a Dwarf has "material sence" not "metal sence". A dwarf can
tell you what "anything" is. If you take a dwarf and give him a piece
of wood he will tell you it is oak. If the dwarf was never in a forest
and never "felt" oak he couldn't tell you since it would be "alien" to
his touch. Once though he felt it he will know it the next time he
encounters it. Kindergarten for dwarfs is like a scrap shop I figure.
Little dwarf is encouraged to pick something up and then is told what it
is so from then on he will "know". As Dom Foran I can tell you that
the clear substance you handed me is transparent Aluminum since I was on
a ship and went out of my way to touch everything and get names to go
with it. As Dom though I have problems differentiating between woods
since I grew up in a mining town and didn't get the tree experience beyond
simple basic trees such as oak, pine and elms.
