If the GM plays it smart, Hirudo are to be completely feared.  Its
the bad GM that makes them worthless.  A group of rate 50
ones and a rate 100 one should be able, if played well, to put
down about anyone.  Mainly because Grapple is so ridiculous, but
I digress.  Most times that you face a hirudo alone, you will
win if you are in a group, but as I said..thats if they are played
badly.  

As for the rate 100 against a rate 100 hirudo..hirudo wins.
It Shades(or whatever the higher rank immune to magic spell is), goes
in, gets close, and drops the spell.  Bang, I'm in melee, you didn't
see me coming.  That means a surprise round that I grab you in, and
next round, you get encured and soon after die. 

Or use the lower rate one, and toss an Ombrodolor or two, may be
2 at the same time with defer, and you are gonna blow that check,
but regardless you are stunned and loose a round min.  You blow
the check, I gingerly walk up, and grab you and have dinner.

Or worse yet, just to be a complete bastard, I defer 2 mucks, and hit
you with'em.  You have to make all 4 checks instantly, since the
checks go off with each round of casting(read the spell), the defer
makes you take'em all instantly, then you get hit with a 2nd one
in the same round.  Or worse, I corrupt you, enjoy the disease, I
hope you make the check, oh whoops..you did..you're still screwed.

Current writeup hirudo are killers pure and simple, and if played
smart can kill anything. But granted that argument works for near
anything as well, but they do have the distinct and obvious advantage
of versatility over other types of characters(Warriors the melee
beasts).
