Re: Matrix Gems and Rulings
(dusts self off a bit)
I'm big into the magiphysics aspect vs PFM, so if you go the magiphysics
route
on the gems...
Depends on how you treat the matrix gem (to be refered to as MG for the
rest
of this ramble) effect on the wielder. Since they "tune" to your aura or
some
rot, and can cause physical damage (presumably from being out of tune),
we've
got a little info to work with. Also, elves aren't restricted from their
use, so
it's not tuning to your soul (apparently), which lends support to a more
physical sort of tuning. To 'feel' out the rules via the game, I'd try
touching
one to a few non-human type critters and monitor the effects.
To simplify, let's say it's physical, whether bioelectric, chemical, or
whatever.
It has to be touched to be working, on skin, so bioelectric sounds good.
Based
on that, it does make sense that's it prob. not healthy to maintain a
constant touch
on the thing (such as inside a pouch o' flesh). You'd have to (again)
'feel' out
the meta/rules through the game by determining how much prolonged
contact w/ a MG can be maintained prior to an adverse reaction...
