RE: Characters w/out their players (was: Rougtero Vivocefo)

Correct, this whole discussion has nothing to do with whether
a character is an actor, but how to handle a players abesence
when a character is needed in game.
--------------------------------------------
Well, duh, what do you think.
"Oh, you want to go see Bob about casting some gnarly spell?"
[GM looks around, not seeing Jevan anywhere and knowing
that he isn't in any of the other games, he continues] "How long
and where do you want to look?" [after the appropriate amount
of game time passes] "Well, you don't find him, but someone
at the temple has offered to get a message to him as soon as
they see him if you so desire." [aside: "The guy did look like
some pud you've seen cow-towing to Bob before, so he's
probably reliable."]
There's one scenario, Rob; how many more do you need?
This part is directed to all GM's (not just Rob). Why is this
even a topic of discussion? Isn't the answer clear? I truly
feel that players are too used to always being able to do
whatever it is they want to do, see whatever character they
want to see, and dick-over whatever group/GM they want to
dick-over (and without consequences, at that). How 'bout
some common sense as GM's, eh?
