Actually I said the chain would be built into the plate to cover connecting
points. The reason I am unsure is lack of full knowledge of how "traditional"
armor is made. The thing I do know is coverage not the materials that make
armor be armor. For plate there is typically some other protection at the
joints to keep them from being used against you. Chain has no joints and I 
don't know how the underlaying padding is attached to it if at all.

I'm leaving now for the East Coast later all.
