RE:Armor



I would rather have the increased movement rates than the DVs. There
are many people with HIGH DVs ( high being 20+ ) which make playing the
rate 20- fighting types more difficult. You have to buy your Mods up
before being able to diversify some. I play a rate 12 warrior with a
mod of 7 and a CDV of 24 ( with sword ) and 32 DP. This last week it
took forever to run through a combat since I rolled poorly and only
hit 30% of the time. If it weren't for my DV I would have been dead.
If you increased the DVs of normal armor magic/special armor would also
have to increase and then low raters wouldn't be able to hit dick.

As a low rater I want to be able to run away if things get hairy or
have armor that keeps it from getting hairy to quickly. Armor has just
enough DV for what it is supposed to be representive of ( maybe too
much ) but is too much of a hiderence for movement.

As for people who feel those in plate should just sink they aren't aware
of the fact that you can swim in armor. I also hear people go on about
how loud chain mail is but this is inaccurate too. Ask Kevin if anyone
notices when he is wearing his chain under his cloths because of the sound.
It just isn't that loud. In fact I'm pretty sure the 1000 coins in your
pouch make more noise than your armor when your moving quickly.
