Aha! This little blurb from the manual could be taken in a couple of
different ways. Is it just a symbolic gesture (quenching with blood) of
placing a little piece of "soul" in the blade, not unlike becoming a
"blood brother/sister" ? On the other hand, it _could_ actually be a more
supernatural event, and THAT would imply some investment of soul.
Personally I have always taken it as some ceremonial rite or procedure.
I say let elves go on with their bad selves. Equal opportunity
butt-kicking in the name of T'or!
