RE: Defensive Skill

Hmmm, dunno, Kris, let me finish this Coke so my body
can generate more ammunition. 8-)

Seriously, tho, I could be swayed towards that way of
thinking. But I have to tell you, both your suggestion
and most of Wright's examples rely on a lot of agility,
not common sense, which is what the weapons skills
are based on. This is a problem. At least if we are
only applying the DV to combat and grapple, I can
still maintain in my own mind the idea that the skill
is, in fact, based on CSE, rather than AGI. So, now,
what thoughts do you folks have on this?

Okay,

Wright and Lyle stop P*SS fighting.

Wright I certainly do understand Lyle's stance, it would be very
difficult in my opinion to concentrate on avoiding missile weapons while
also attacking in a combat situation. After saying that I do like the
simplicity of having the +2 count across the board. Why not explain the
+2 to all DVs as the fact that in order to make yourself harder to hit
you are bouncing around more, ducking, etc in combination with your
weapon (which is still being used to hit things if you see just the right
opening that will flow nicely with your defensive "dance"). It is this
ducking, dancing, dogging around that primarily confers the bonus and
this would confer a bonus across the board (i.e. if you are moving around
constantly in no predictable pattern you are more difficult to hit even
with a bow).

Well what do you all think? [I wince and prepare to be flamed]
