RE: question
Uh, guys (and Kris, tho she hasn't yet commented on this), hmmm,
is there something in the book that ties "emotions" to "intelligence"?
If not, then I have to argue, philosophically of course, that intelligence
is only part of the equation; and even then, only in that a minimum
intelligence would be required for emotions to exist. I would also
put forth that a minimal willpower is required (this would handle
those who are completely under the mental control of another as
their willpower at the time would be effectively 0; but then the
spell might actually affect the controller in that case...). One may
even go so far as to require the ephemeral 'lifeforce' quality that
is shared by those living as well as spirits, but not most corporeal
undead (i.e. skeletons, zombies, etc.). Unless the rules explicitly
state that the existence of emotion is tied to intelligence, I would
have to argue as I've stated here, that we really don't have a real
definition for the existence of emotion. But, for my own part and to
fuel conversation, I would require the three things I have listed: a
minimal INT, a minimal WIL, and lifeforce.
