Hrm... Close:

Chart:
	a) ask range
	b) consult table
	c) roll
	d) tell result minus modifier as found in (b)

John:
	a) ask range
	b) figure out how many dice you should roll (you already know max
distance since its your weapon of choice)
	c) roll bow skill
	d) roll to hit

Making it 30780 instead of 51300 (was asumming base cost 300, my bad).
However 30780 is still a _LOT_ more than 4200. (30780 is what it takes
to get an 18 skill which is what it takes to "guarentee" 75% extra
distance).
