Adventure Summary
As promised, here is a summary of the adventure I ran saturday.
Questions are welcome, if more information is needed. I tried to keep
the summary brief, for everyone's benefit. If anyone feels this may in
some way interact with a plot-line, let me know so we may discuss it.
* - indicates common knowledge
* 1) Actors introduced:
Jarl Foehammer- 4'4 dwarven weaponsmith of exceptional skill.
Heavily muscled from long years at the forge.
Well dressed and obviously from out of town.
Mysterious Stranger- 7ft tall man clad in long black robes. Wirey
build, pointed black beard, exceptional strength,
and peircing eyes which never seem to blink. Name
never given.
* 2) departed on the Evening Song (Marajo) for a period of 6 days.
3) Opened a partially looted complex, devoted to Tarus, located in the
southern region of the ruins of Karfelon, deep underground. The
Mysterious Stranger claimed to be a priest of Tarus, and authorized the
player's activities. Several items were removed by the players.
4) Jarl FoeHammer recovered a book on weaponsmithing authored by his
Great Grandfather. The Mysterious Stranger recovered a black book (only
one player witnessed this, and it was not reported to the party).
5) The complex itself contained a storehouse of sensitive items guarded
by six tests. The party successfully penetrated the tests of Strength,
Will, Preception, Agility, Common Sense, and Inteligence required to
access the storehouse of knowledge.
6) Most of the contents of the storehouse were disintegrated by age.
The entire room devoted to items of technology was found to be
mysteriously empty.
The party was able to recover:
several books dealing with uncommon (but not forbidden) knowledge. The
books are more for roleplay, and were not assigned item numbers.
The books covered the subjects of History, Medicine, and Carpentry and
Plants.
2 steel weapons of exceptionally high quality constructed with knowledge
normally a closely guarded secret of the priests of Tarus. The high
quality granting a +2 to hit an damage inclusive of material bonus.
A flame-shaped shield
A violin of exceptional quality (removing 1d6 from instrumental music
skill attempts with the violin only).
Hope this helps keep everyone informed,
Rick
