I can see that...however, the damage from a blunt weapon against someone
in full plate should still be high.  This is due to the fact that whoever
is in the armor, no matter how much the armor is damaged, is still going
to be taking a shload of concussive damage.  It's the same reason why ppl
can't use quarterstaffs in SCA...hit someone in the head no matter what
helmet they are wearing, they will get a concussion.
