marines and warriors
wright i think you misunderstood jevan. I think he meant my general
view of marines versus warriors, not claude specificall. so here is
my view on the situation.;)
The way i see it marines are the soldiers of jaern while warriors tend
to be oriented towards the single assassain, hero, bodyguard, etc.
this means that warriors should have and practice the highly advanced
forms of personal combat( like in my opinion wrestling). while
marines would be versed in more basic forms forms of combat taught to
them en masse. However, marine should also get tactics type skills
(war type stuff). (I personally feel that wrestling is only marine
casue travis was a marine when he was pushing for it)
what it comes down to is looking at the skill list warriors train their
whole life to whoop ass at personal combat to the extent of other pursuits
(ie skills) while marines train in some combat but also learn a flurry of
other skills (like sailing, dolphineering, cartography etc.).
personally i don't have a problem with the fencing weapons being put
in the marine group (although i think they should be included in the
warrior group as well) as long as they aren't mor powerful than a
maroglave i don't really see that undermining the warriors niche in
the game. I am defintly for putting any advanced combat skills in
the warriors categroy, though since it is their only specialty.
just a note on claude. i don't actually have magic items that really
help me against marines, i do have one or two spells i cast when i go
in to combat (i believe this is what wright was refering to). also
i wouldn't say i was heavily mutated. von darwin is heavily mutated
i'm just moderately mutated;)
